Welcome, Family!

As one of the many grandchildren of Lela Hulett Engelhart, I have always been enthralled with the interesting and colorful history of the three sisters. But like most of you, I didn't always take the time to ask them about it nor did I write any of it down. I am hoping this blog can be a place where we can share our stories and memories of the three sisters, Ethel, Lela and Wyllia and in doing so, reconnect with one another.

I will post instructions for creating and publishing a blog post once I re-remember how to explain it to you as simply as possible.

First, a little about me. I am the first born (and only) daughter of Marie Engelhart and Marvin Robert (Bob Blum) (m. 1965/d. 2001) born on June 10, 1970 in Richmond, VA. In April of 1980, we moved with my brother, Steven Richard (goes by Burhan) Blum to Houston, TX. Currently, my husband, Tommy Edward Wells, Jr. (b. Sept. 29, 1972 in Houston) and I live in Cypress, TX, just a mile and a half from my mom and the home I grew up in here, with our daughter, Alexandria Myshel (b. May 25, 1994 in Houston) and our son, Quentin Thomas (b. April 3, 2001 in Austin), and our two lab mix dogs, Hope and Chase. I have been a teacher and a high school AP and most recently Dean of Instruction, but due to a stage 3 colorectal cancer diagnosis in March and the bad bout with chemo treatments, I am resigning to pursue other (part time) interests and to focus on recovery and family. That's a long story, but you can follow my cancer stuff on Facebook if you want:

And here is my 'regular' personal Facebook page:

When I am not working or battling cancer, I am a runner, soccer player, triathlete, yogi, and basically any thing outdoors-y. I want to be a better cook.

Looking forward to reading and sharing stories and getting to know extended family better.

Love,
Becky (AKA Rebecca) Wells (nee' Blum)
